“Regressive Moments: What To Expect When Healing From Divorce”

When we lose a relationship that was valuable to us, we experience death.

Divorce is certainly one of the hardest forms of death and will often take its toll on all persons involved.

Where there is death, there will be grief and it has seven stages:

Shock and denial. This is a state of disbelief and numbed feelings.

Pain and guilt. You may feel that the loss is unbearable and that you’re making other people’s lives harder because of your feelings and needs.

Anger and bargaining. You may lash out, telling God or a higher power that you’ll do anything they ask if they’ll only grant you relief from these feelings.

Depression. This may be a period of isolation and loneliness during which you process and reflect on the loss.

The upward turn. At this point, the stages of grief like anger and pain have died down, and you’re left in a more calm and relaxed state.

Reconstruction and working through. You can begin to put pieces of your life back together and carry forward.

Acceptance and hope. This is a very gradual acceptance of the new way of life and a feeling of possibility in the future.” (Healthline.com)

Although the order is not always this way, the stages usually come at some point during your process.

The good news is that recovery is probable and effective!

I went through and still going through these stages and God is present every step of the way!

life isn’t over and you WILL BREATHE AGAIN!

BE STRONG, HOLD ON, AND BE ENCOURAGED…

GOD has already made a way and the future is bright!

Pain: The Alarm System Called Pain

“OUCH! God, that hurt!”

Is not that just like us?

We live our lives, mistake after mistake, hurting the heart of God but the moment we stump our toe…

“OUCH! God, what is that all about?!”

Theodicy is the attempt to explain why a good God allows evil to exist.

In the world of Christian apologetics–the defense of the Christian faith, this question is known as the “problem of evil.”

This problem is primarily the number one argument posed by atheist and agnostics.

For some reason, humanity has developed the notion that our reason and emotion warrants an explanation and/or consideration of the Supreme God.

Because of our fallen nature, it is plausible that we lack goodness because of the evil we participate in and allow.

But this is not the same with God…

We are NOT sovereign.  So, we lack the prerogative to exclusively hold the authority to create, know, and see all things.

What then when we are in error or missing an important moral or spiritual piece of the puzzle?

How does God gain our attention to redirect it towards the appropriate place of contention?

PAIN!

It points to areas that need our attention.

Sometimes we need to feel pain to dig deeper to discover the real problem.

When we pierce our barefoot on a rusty nail, the pain it produces let’s us know many things:

1. Walking without shoes to protect our feet can be harmful.

2. There are dangerous and/or harmful items on the ground where we walk. Depending upon the location, some things may or may not be appropriate for that circumstance. (Ex. Rusty nails may not be suitable to a park or a gym).

3. There is something there that is out of place or foreign to the location. (i.e., rusty nail)

4. A foreign object has infiltrated the skin and wounded the foot.

5. Isolate the wound and protect the rest of the body from infection.

Pain is our alarm system!

God allows pain to inform us of a greater problem.

Sometimes, it is a problem within us…

Or an issue within someone else (moral sins against one another)

But either way, pain reveals a need to dive within and address a deeper problem.

Where is the source of your value?

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalms 139:14

Remember, God is the source of your value!

Not because of anything to do with you…

But EVERYTHING to do with Him!!🙌🏾

God’s “hesed” is the source of who we are!

Solely because God loves us, has He made us righteous and worthy to spend eternity in His presence!

Know who you are in Christ!

Believe you are valuable!

Because God says so!

2021: The Shaking of the Heavens and the Earth

Hear what the Lord your God is saying:

“Hebrews 12:24-29
English Standard Version

24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

25 See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.

26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

27 This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,

29 for our God is a consuming fire.”

I say to you people of God:

2020 will not compare to 2021, lest you repent!

There is coming another shaking of the heavens and the Earth so that “those that will remain, will remain.”

Either you surrender unto the blood of Christ that speaks better things than the blood of Abel that speaks vengeance, or you will be shaken!

Be the remnant of God’s true church…

Be His bride!

Woe unto all that refuse to receive the spirit of the fear of the Lord–

Reverence God for He is the ALL CONSUMING FIRE! 🔥

SELAH…

AMEN!

The Eagle and the Crow

What a powerful word this is!

As the eagle soars, she endures the weight and pain that ole crow inflicts while riding on her back.

Yet she continues to rise, higher and higher…

There’s a purpose that’s above all that she’s currently going through.

And when she reaches the altitude that exceeds her enemy’s capability, they begin to fall, exposing them to every other bird in the sky.

See, only some knew the crow’s plan and some saw the crow on their target’s back, but ALL will see the crow fall in due time!

There is always a choice! If you find yourself as the eagle or the crow, there is always a choice!

Eagle: Keeping soaring higher. Your altitude will free you from your foe and baggage.

Crow: Recognize your surroundings and get off while you can because staying attached to someone’s flight will only expose you when they surpass your limit.

Be careful who’s life you covet, you don’t have the wingspan nor lung capacity to breathe the anointing they carry.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”Isaiah 40:31

What Does Satan Look Like?

How many of us have imagined a Boogeyman for the devil?

This hideous monster 👹 … Red, with horns and a tail, right?

WRONG!

That is NOT EVEN CLOSE to what the devil looks like!

Maybe at the end, during the tribulation …

… when the great beast or dragon makes his debut …

But ole Hassaton, Lucifer, Satan … scripture describes him much differently.

So, do not be deceived, Satan does not look like what you may think.

Job 1:6-12 ESV

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”

Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.”

And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.”

1Pet 5:8
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

2 Cor 11:14
“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”

Ezekiel 28:14; 17
“You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.”

“Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.”

Beware of What You Feel… Trust What You Hear!

How many times have we heard a word from God but doubted it after something happens?

Like Isaac is this story, we tend to trust what we feel over what we have heard from the Lord.

“Those who have ears to hear, let them hear…” the word says many times in the New Testament. (Matt.11:15; 13:9-16; Mk. 4:9; 24; Rev. 2:29)

In the Gospels, Jesus makes this statement when He delivered revelation through a parable.

If you want the truth, you must be willing to hear…

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17 KJV

Hearing is the ability to process the transmission of sound.

But Scripture teaches that hearing comes by the word of God–Jesus!

Jesus is the logos which means divine reason, creative order. It is the logic that persuades truth.

Jesus offers Himself each time before He persuades the hearers to receive God’s word.

This persuasion is not deceptive but rather caters to the choice presented in free will.

“Let those who have ears to hear, let them hear…”

So, let’s get back to the story in Genesis 27 …

“So he went in to his father and said, ‘My father.’ And he said, “Here I am. Who are you, my son?’ 19 Jacob said to his father, ‘I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me; now sit up and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.’ 20 But Isaac said to his son, ‘How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?’ He answered, ‘Because the Lord your God granted me success.’ 21 Then Isaac said to Jacob, ‘Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, to know whether you are really my son Esau or not.’ 22 So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, who felt him and said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.’ 23 And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau’s hands. So he blessed him.”

Isaac lacked his sight so he relied on his other senses to guide him.

Isaac heard first and asked who was approaching him …

Then he smelled him, as he leaned in closer …

Lastly, he touched him to feel if he was in fact the son he claimed to be …

And of all three senses, only his hearing spoke the truth …

YET he settled and believed what he felt.

Does not this speak volumes?

Why do we allow our feelings to determine how we react/respond?

Lord knows I am guilty, guilty, guilty!

But what we must realize is that when we are lead by feelings (emotions) we open ourselves up to misappropriated blessings.

OUCH!
